HELENA — The Montana Chamber of Commerce today released its 2021 Voting Review of the 67th session of the Montana Legislature and Governor.
The Montana Chamber had an incredibly successful session by advancing several pieces of business-friendly legislation while defeating proposals that would have harmed Montana’s business climate. These big wins for business were made possible with the help of nearly 100 legislators recognized as this year’s “Champions of Business.”

To be named a Champion of Business, a legislator must earn a score that meets or exceeds 90 percent in the Montana Chamber’s Voting Review, supported the Montana Chamber’s four priority bills, and sponsored no anti-business legislation.
The Montana Chamber also recognizes a “Most Valuable Policymaker” who demonstrated exceptional service to the business community. The 2021 MVP is Senator Steve Fitzpatrick (SD-10) of Great Falls.
“It was a pleasure working side by side with the Montana Chamber to address a wide range of issues which affect Montana businesses,” Fitzpatrick said. “As a policymaker, I’m happy to work with an organization that represents such a diverse membership. This session, we were able to pass a common-sense, pro-business package of legislation on topics such as COVID-19 liability and employment law while also stopping bills which would have had a negative impact on our state’s economy.“
Governor Greg Gianforte also received exceptional marks in the 2021 Voting Review for his impact in the legislative process. Scoring 100%, the Governor is backing up his promise to deliver economic prosperity to Montana.
