Annual Governors’ Cup Golf Tournament

Started as the Centennial Golf Classic during the 100th celebration of Montana’s statehood in 1989, the Montana Chamber Foundation annually hosts more than 400 business and government leaders, representing over 100 businesses from across Montana, the entire U.S., and even around the world through the Governors’ Cup Golf Tournament.

This beloved Montana event is specifically organized for networking and to promote the state’s growing opportunities for business and investment, as well as a charitable fundraiser for our various programs. The Governors’ Cup recognizes and appreciates the support of all of Montana’s living governors, many of whom attend the tournament and serve as Honorary Hosts each year.

postponed until 2021

After much consideration, The Montana Chamber Foundation has cancelled the 2020 Governors’ Cup.  The necessary restrictions to hold large events and the recent rise in cases, all due to COVID-19 pandemic, have culminated in the decision to cancel.

We will use this time to explore, refresh and implement new ideas to make the 32nd annual Governors’ Cup in 2021 the best event yet.  We hope you will join us on July 29, 30 and 31, 2021, at Flathead Valley Community College, Buffalo Hill, Meadow Lake and Eagle Bend.

Tournament Format

    • 400 golfers will play Eagle Bend, Meadow Lake, and/or Whitefish Lake (south) golf courses
    • Red, White and Blue flights will golf two courses over two days
    • Governors’ Reception and Sandbagger Barbecue, player gift, breakfast, lunch, snacks and Saturday reception included
    • Each team of four plus a (rotating) guest player gets two carts

The Governors’ Cup spans three packed days. The first day kicks off with practice rounds of golf for those who want to warm up for the following day’s tee-off.

That evening, participants gather for the Governors’ Reception and Sandbaggers Barbecue. The public is invited to participate in the Reception and Barbecue.
