HELENA– After eight weeks of managing and making a variety of business decisions, the winners of the 2018 fall High School Business (HSBC) have been announced.

The top-eight teams are as follows:

1.Mixr, Melstone, $90.15;
2.Inkomo, Inc., Columbia Falls, $89.75;
3.Boost, Anaconda, $89.06;
4.Treyton, Dillon, $88.95
4. Blue Wolves, Anaconda, $88.95;
5. Ovonel, Anaconda, $86.78;
6. Destructor de canas, Sunburst, $82. 95;
7.and Helix, Anaconda, $81.46

The top-eight fall teams with the highest stock prices are invited to compete with the top-eight teams from the spring 2019 semester in the Challenge Bowl for a chance at scholarships.While the top prize is $1,000 for the team who wins the Challenge, each student will at least walk away with a $100 scholarship.

“We are proud of all the hard work students across Montana put in this semester,” said Alexandria Klapmeier, communications director of the Montana Chamber of Commerce. “The High School Business Challenge is a great opportunity for students to be exposed to the business world and the decisions that come with it.”

Two other teams were also awarded $100 scholarships for each team member during the fall semester.

Each member of Tylands Diner from Dillon will receive a $100 scholarship for having the highest stock price increase of $58.00 per share between quarters 4 and 8. A $100 per student scholarship is given every semester through our ‘lottery’ drawing. Teams finishing in the top quartile are eligible. This semester teams having a stock price of $67.61 were entered, and the lucky team is PortablePowerPlayer from Glasgow.

The spring semester begins Feb. 13, 2019. The Challenge Bowl will be held in April 2019.

The Montana Chamber Foundation, with support from individuals, businesses and foundations, offers the business education competition to any school in Montana interested in bringing their students a real-life simulation that teaches business operations and management.
