Mar 9, 2018|Press Release

HELENA– The Board of Directors of the Montana State Fund (MSF), Montana’s largest workers’ compensation insurance carrier, has approved an 8 percent reduction in premium rate level. This is welcoming news to MSF’s nearly 25,000 Montana policyholder businesses and other organizations.

This is the twelfth consecutive year that MSF rates have remained flat or decreased, a testament to improving workplace safety across the state.

“Reducing the cost of workers compensation premiums is a major focus of Envision 2026,” said Webb Brown, president and CEO of the Montana Chamber of Commerce. “This is the result of the work comp reforms we backed in the 2011 Legislature, as well as greater emphasis on workplace safety.”

The rate reduction proposal is now under review for approval by the Montana Insurance Commissioner’s office.

Envision 2026, the Montana Chamber’s 10-year strategic plan, focuses on creating a business climate that reduces cost and encourages growth and investment.
