The Montana Chamber of Commerce began the Montana Chamber Choices health insurance and wellness program in 2004 to meet the needs of small businesses looking to provide affordable, quality health insurance to employees. Since that time, Chamber Choices has grown to cover more than 12,000 Montanans from more than 1,200 Montana small businesses. More than half of them were previously uninsured, mostly because there was no affordable health insurance option.
Chamber Choices is an association health insurance (fully-insured by BlueCross BlueShield of Montana) and wellness program that offers a variety of affordable health insurance plans for employers with 2-99 employees. It is designed to:
- Offer stable, affordable, predictable rates to employers and members
- Promote, offer, and cover wellness and preventive benefits
- Provide extra value such as the Employee Assistance Program, life insurance benefits and legal consultation services
Association Membership Requirements
In addition to the membership requirement, employers must pay at least 50% of each employee’s premium and at least 75% of their eligible employees must participate in the program.
