HELENA– On Wednesday, Commissioner of Securities and Insurance Matt Rosendale announced that he approved a nearly 11 percent reduction in Montana workers compensation loss costs. You can read his full release here.
The Montana Chamber of Commerce released the following statement on Rosendale’s announcement.
“Reducing the cost of workers compensation premiums is a major focus of Envision 2026, our ten-year strategic plan,” said Webb Brown, president/CEO of the Montana Chamber of Commerce. “We’re happy to see success in that effort while maintaining benefit levels. Our efforts to improve safety in the workplace will further reduce cost.”
The 10.7 percent overall average decrease was filed by National Council on Compensation Insurance and will take effect July 1. The approved loss costs will be used by both private workers compensation insurers and the Montana State Fund in establishing programs.
