Aug 9, 2017|News Alert, Press Release

HELENA– On Wednesday, 15 people were selected to serve on a subcommittee for the Children, Families, Health and Human Services Interim Committee that will examine matters related to transparency in health care pricing.

Three of the selected members were nominated by the Montana Chamber of Commerce. These nominees included:
EBMS, Inc. president Kevin Larson who is representing an unaffiliated employer;
Farm Equipment Sales, Inc., general manager Sarah Swanson Partridge who is representing a small group employer and
Billings Clinic chief financial officer Connie Prewitt who will represent the Montana Chamber.

The first meeting is 8:30 a.m. Sept. 12 in room 137 of the Capitol in Helena.

“These members will bring a business voice and perspective to this factor of health care cost – an issue that is a big part of Envision 2026, the Montana Chamber’s 10-year strategic plan,” said Webb Brown, president and CEO of the Montana Chamber.

The Children and Families Committee agreed in June to create a subcommittee made up of legislators and public members to carry out the bulk of the work proposed in the House Joint Resolution 20 study of health care price transparency. The subcommittee will meet periodically between now and next summer to prepare and refine recommendations for the full interim committee.

The Montana Chamber staff will also track the subcommittee and all other Interim activity as part of our ongoing government involvement on behalf of business and Montana’s economy.
